Operations

We run platforms as products: automated, measured and optimised.

Once in production, a platform needs to ship without friction, be visible from the inside and cost just what it should. Those are the three fronts we cover.

DevOps

From commit to production without friction

Our DevOps services focus on optimising software delivery, improving collaboration between development and operations teams, and automating processes.

What is DevOps?

DevOps is the combination of cultural philosophies, practices, and tools that increases an organization's ability to deliver applications and services at high velocity.

How it is measured: the DORA metrics

  1. Change lead time

Time from commit until the change is running in production.

  2. Deployment frequency

How many deployments happen over a given period.

  3. Change fail rate

Share of deployments that need immediate intervention.

  4. Failed deployment recovery time

How long it takes to recover from a failed deployment.

What is observability?

Observability lets you understand a system from the outside by letting you ask questions about that system without knowing its inner workings.

The signals we work with

  1. Logs

Timestamped messages emitted by services and components.

  2. Metrics

Numeric data aggregated over time: errors, CPU, latency.

  3. Traces

The path a request takes across multiple services.

  4. SLIs and SLOs

What is measured from the user’s side and what reliability is promised.

What is FinOps?

FinOps is an operational framework and cultural practice which maximizes the business value of technology, enables timely data-driven decision making, and creates financial accountability through collaboration between engineering, finance, and business teams.

The three phases of the FinOps lifecycle

  1. Inform

Visibility of cost, usage and efficiency; allocation and forecasting.

  2. Optimize

Spotting rate and usage opportunities to gain efficiency.

  3. Operate

Applying the changes, improving continuously and staying accountable.

Frequently asked questions

The most common questions about how we run your platform.

What does the operations service include?

Three fronts: DevOps (CI/CD, GitOps and infrastructure as code), observability (monitoring, logs and alerts) and FinOps (visibility and optimisation of cloud spend). It can be a one-off project or an ongoing managed service.

Which CI/CD tools do you work with?

GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps and AWS DevOps services, ArgoCD for GitOps, Helm, Terraform and Ansible. We pick what fits your context rather than imposing a stack.

Can you work with our current monitoring tool?

Yes. We work with Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana and Beats), Datadog and Dynatrace, both in the cloud and on-premises.

How much can FinOps save?

It depends on where you start. We first assess your current spend and set a baseline; then we apply reservations and Savings Plans, right-sizing, tagging and budgets, and measure the real savings against that baseline.

Do you build security into the pipelines?

Yes, with DevSecOps: automated security tools in the pipeline, security testing and vulnerability analysis across the whole development lifecycle.

Do you train our team?

Yes. We run DevOps culture workshops to improve collaboration between development and operations, and FinOps training for technical and finance teams.
